Dallas Headshot Photographer – A Tip

Before you get to the day that you’re re going to take your headshots, I want to talk about what you should expect and why you’re getting your headshots in the first place.
Everyone knows that actors, models, comedians, and even business people need headshots. But why? Why do you need a headshot and what is it?
A headshot is your business card!
Your headshot is an 8”x10” photo of you that says, “I’m professional. I’m reliable. I’m serious. I’m the person for this job!”
Remember, your headshot is going to get lumped into a stack of pictures with 100’s of other people. So yours needs to be head and shoulders above everyone else. Pun intended. So, the real question is…
How can you make your headshot stand out?
1. Wear something that shows off your personality. However, don’t wear something that takes way from your face. The face and eyes are what should stand out; not your earrings or tie.
2. Get enough rest they day before your shoot. Baggy eyes will not help you get parts. Get some rest and come to the shoot ready to work.
3. LOOK IN A MIRROR and practice your smile. Nothing says, “I hate life,” more than a headshot with a crummy smile. You should work on both a smile with an open mouth (teeth exposed) and with your mouth closed.
4. LOOK IN A MIRROR and focus on your eyes.
That’s all for now. I’ll have more tips for you soon.
